HASTINGS, June 15.' Last week's advaneed rates for inlainb ewes were fully maintained' at Stortford Lodge to-day when supply in the yarding of 50U0 head of store sheep was restricted. Eneouraged by the grass demand, buyers bid enthusiastic-. aily On elastie limits. Top iigure of 5 t s was paid for a .quality eonsignment of 4-tooth. 4-year in-lamb ewes. Lambs and wethers also again sold at high values. Mixed aged in-lamb ewes reaiised 52s 2d to 57s, 4-tooths 55s 6d, 4year 49s 9d, 4 and 5-year-olds 46s ld and 5 and 6-year-old 35s lOd. Fattening ewes made 2ls 5a. Wethers were in short supply and the priee roeketed to 50s 9d. Other grown wethers brought 45s 4d and good 2-tooths 44s 7d. The market was better supplied with lambs for which the inquiry was strong , with values "well in ime with reeent buoyant rates. Shorn wether lambs were traded at 35s 3d to 35s 4d, woolly wether lambs 36s 8d, ewe lambs 43s 5d. Hown eross lambs 32s 6d to 34s 7d. Anotlier solid market existed for store cattle. Well bred A.A. bulloeks sold at £18 Ss, 30-months steers at £14 10s, 2U-months steers £13 10s, weaner steers £6' 7s to £8 15s, in-ealf cows £8 15s to £10 10s, 30-months in-calf heifers £13 10s, 30-months in-calf heifers £12 11s, empty 80-months heifers £8 10s to £8 16s, weaner heifers £6 18s. Lxtra priine x'a't wethers reaehed 54s 7dxin the fat sheep market. Butchers bid keenly and the market continued on a liardening trend further stimulated by the appearance of an outside demand. Prime aged ewes were traded at 35s ld to 36s ld, others 32s lOd to 34s 7d aml light down to 28s. Pripie aged Southdown ewes realised 39s 4d, extia prime youag ewes 47s 7d, extra priine heavy wethers 53s 4d to 54s 7d, priine unlinished 38s to 43s 7d, heavy lambs 36s 10d to 40s 4d, others 32s 7d to 35s, smali down to 29s 4d. Conironted with a short entry of onlv 85 head, buyers provided brisk compelition ior fat cattle, prices making a luil r> covery after last week's easiei sa'.e. Ox beef was in short supply.
