Awahau .luniors have come oacK to the Horowhenpa competition this season with a strong team. They play good hard, typical Maori football. J. Pitihera, at fufi-back, is a safe player with good hands. The wi'ngers, R. Hunt and T. McDonald, are both fast and the former is a determined runner, with a strong fend. W. Kawana, at centre, is also a strong runner. *J. Tukapua, at second five-eighths, handles well and has a good eye for a gap. T. Gilmore, at first. is a good link with T. Tukapua at the base of the scrum. The forwards are fit and hard, and. are well led by J. Devonshire, a. good breakaway, and a bramv player, T." Hapeta, in the back of the scrum is fast at upsetting the opposition backs. T. Pikimana and V. Meriot two hard working locks, the latter a grand lineout forward. R. McGregor, the other break-away, is fast and a tiger in the loose. A Kepa and T.
