It is here right now," Senator Owen Brewster (Republican — Maine) said today. ' ' There are over 4,000,000 persons unemployed now and the consensus of opinion of administration experts is that the number will grow." Senator Brewster said Republican Senators would soon spbnsor a 50,000,000 dollar public works relief planning programme to meet tlie growing ' 1 clemocratic -depression." The measure
would not in itself provide fuhds for public works but would merelv finance the planning of a works programme to be started when deemed -advisable.
