Chinese Woman Delegate To Conference

• WELLINGTON, June 15. History was made last year at the annual conference of Dominion Commercial Garaeners when the Auckland Association sent a woman delegate, Mis3 Cooper, foTmerly of Wellington. Missf Cooper was not a delegate this year but the Wanganui Association made history again when it appointed as one of its two delegates, a young attractive Chinese, Miss Kwong Chong. Male Chinese have been attending conferences for some years either as direet delegates or representatives of the Chinese Federation of Growers, and reference was made at today's conference to the solidarity of Chinese growers in backing up their European colleagues in all matters affeeting the industry, particularly in last vear's national dispute over eontainer charges. It was also Teported that there had been a fusion of Indian and European growers at Pukekohe, an important commarcial gardening centre.
