AUCKLAND- June 15. An order for 30,000 pairs of niilitary boots for Peru will probably be iost to New Zealand. An Auckland manufacturing firm is unable to fill the order because of a labour shortage and the difficulty in meeting iocal requirements. The inquiry came by air mail from a London firm of exporters which stipulated that the boots be made to United States Army specificatioi s. This stipulation would not ha^e been difficult for local manufacturers, as they supplied many thousands of pairs during the war and tho American army style lasi i s 1(1 dlable hure. Th-1 pri cipal of the firm which reoeive I hu inquiry said that there was nc shortage of materials.
