Wethers Meet With Keen Demand At Sale
At the Levin stock sale yesterday a- large yarding of wethers and a qioderate yarding of lambs met with keen competiti.on, values realised being on a par with last week's rise in the market. Pigs were in very short supply, causing a firming in prices. - A moderate yarding of vealers sold well up to recent ratfes, while a pen of light ox met with a brisk dem'an'd. Fat cows were in over supply and were hard to qui't at option. Quotations are as foTows: — Sheep: Prime fat wethers, 48s 4d to 50s ld; medimn do., 46s 7d to 47s lOd; prime fat two tooths; 48s ld to 49s 10'd; prime fat ewes, 34s 7d to 35s 7d; medium do.; 30s' to 32s 4d; lighter do., 27s lOd to 29s lOd; prime woolly lambs, £2 Is 7d to £2 3s 10'd; prime shorn lambs, 38s 4d to 39s ld; medium do., 34s lOd to 36s 4d. a Pigs: Prime porkers, £5 ls to £5 10s; medium do., £4 7s to £4 18s; light do., £3 5s to £4; prime baconers, £5 18s to £6 3s; heavy choppers, £5' 12s 6d; light 'do., £3 13s.
