Motor-Cycle Pillion Rider Fatally Injured
Thrown under a stationary ear from the piilion seat of a motorcycle at Dannevirke shortly before 4 p.m; yes"terdav, an 18-vear-old Maori gir) W111U TllOMPyON, of Law 's Koad, Dannevirke, received-severe injuries from which she died half an hour later at the. Dannevirke Hospital. The driver of tne m'otorcycle, Mr. Wylie liogers, a young Maori, of Bulls, received a lacerated leg and was detained in hospital. The accident occ-urred at the intersoction of Christian and High Btreets, the motorcycle being unable to avoid the ear and broadsiding into the side of it. The girl was flung from the piilion seat undernqath the ear. JBoth were talcen to hospital by ambulance» The driver of the ear was Mr. W. P. C. Bell, of Palmerston North. No one m the car was injured.
