Borough's Hospital Levy Still Rising
"There is nothing we can do xbout it and I see that the county council ho"'ds the same view," said the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, when the hospital rating question was raised at Wednesday night's meeting of the Levin Borough Council. The levy for Levin this year, which was contained in a letter "rom the Palmerston North Hospital Board, was £3227 18s 2d, as against £2975 15s lOd last year. "We can at least say we don't like it," said Cr. R. A. Frederikson. "They woul'd not be so high if Pa1merston North was paying what it shou d. I tmnk eapital vamauon should be kept up to date." On the motion of Cr. Frederikson, it was decided to write fo t.hQ «6tating that the council considered it oniy fair that the valuation of the various borxughs and cities in J the distriet should be speedi y - brought un to date.
