The first game of the season in the Horowhenua Badminton Association's B grade competition sav; Manakau beat College Old Pupils by ten games to six. Individuai] results, with O'd Pupils mentioned first in each instance, were as follows: — Men's singles: R. Robinson lost to S. Ridge 20 — 24, N. Sciascia lost to P. Leen 8 — 21, D. Campbeil beat A. Haziitt 21 — 17, N. Winiata lost to G. Lander 13 — 21. Ladies' singles: Miss D. Benning beat Mrs. Ridge 15 — 13, Miss J. Perigo lost to Mrs. Bryant 3 — 15, Miss B. Hooker beat Mrs. Morretto 15 — 11, Miss D. Johnson beat Mrs. Piper 15—13. Men's doub'es: Robinson and Sciascia lost to Ridge and Leen 16 — 21, Campbeil and Winiata lost to Haziitt and Lander 19 — 21.
