: — ♦ WASHIN GTON, June 6. The Anti-lynching Bill was approved to-day by the Senate Judiciary Commif tee. A similar bill was approved by the BOmmittfee towards the end of last Con gress but was not brought before Sen-^ ate fpr a vote. The legislati'oii provides that a maximum penalty t)f a 10,000 dollars fine or 20 years gaol or both for cpnspiraey to incite, aid or commit lyn cfiing. It would apply to peace oflieers aas well as members of a lynch mob. Any offieer who wilfully fails or refuses to protect persons against lynching, can be fined a maximum of 5000 dollars or be gaoled fOr five years or both. The person vVho is J^nched, or hia next of kin, would be entitled under the Bil! to file a civil damage suit against those responsible for the lynching.
