Plane Crashes With 87 People On Board

Received Tuesdav. 10.30 n.m. NEW YORK, June 7. .. A transport plane carrying 81 per-. sons crashed in the sea and sank off Point Salinas, four miles west of San Juan, Puerto Rico. An incomplete count shows that there are 25 survivors, several of whom are seriously injured. They were brought ashore from small islands and rocks. The plane carried 57 adu'lts. 18 infants and a crew of six. Most of the passengers are helieved to be Puerto Ricans. It was a C46 war surplus aircraft designed to carry about 40 troops and crew.
