There was a grand finish to the Wanganui Steeplechase and three Awapuni horses took part in it, the winner bemg Vernon from Captain Jesse and Gay Rouen. Captain Jesse and -Gay Rouen weie half a lehgth in front of Vernon going mto the last fenee.
