Lepers' Appeal.
The 1948 appeal for the lepers and sufferers from tropical diseases in the South Pacific realised the sum of £27.846, it is announced by the Lepers' Trust Board. So far £23,000 has been allocated to hospitals and missions in the British South Solomons, Makogai, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna Islands and Tahiti. In addition, 103 cases of useful gifts, valued at £1030, have been collected, packed and shipped to the islands.
