Uncle Sam Has Praise For British Justice
WASIIINGTON, May 28. The inflnential Washington Posl today praised the British Magistrat' who freed Gerhard Eisler, for his "fair honest adjninistration of the law."The Post said: "The important poini is that an impartial operation of the law has not been impeded by politiea' eonsiderations. " The Baltimore Sun said: "The simple thing, one might suppose, was for thc British not. to worry too much about legal niceties but to turn Eisler over tc the great nation which wants him back and whereto the British are so deeply indebted. That reckons witliout tlm spirit of the English law, all very matter of fact and rather fine in spirit Despite his subsequent sputterings, thf American Attorney-General, hlr. Tom Clark, will probably agree when he calms down. ' ' y The New York World Telegram said: " The Eisler case was ponducted aeeording to the best traditions of British jfistice. W,e got what we aslced for. All we had the right to ask for was — our day in court and a determination of our ease on its merits. "
