Boys And Krnves. A boys' dirt fight ended in a real fight in which a boy drew a sheath knife and stabbed another boy in the arm, Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., was told in the Hawera Children's Court. The boy was. charged with assault. After- the magistrate had been told that several Hawera boys • carried sheath knives, he agreed to publication of the facts of the case in an effort to stop the practice. Hard-worked Elephdnts. Oyster Season. i Because the demand is expected 1 to be greater than the supply, rock oysters will again be rationed when the season opens on Thursday. Prospects for the season are considered fair, and the quality of the : first oysters sent from the Bay of |Islands is good. Picking has also I begun in the Hauraki Gulf,' on the Great Barrier and in the Kaipara, but work has been delayed by the . weather. Half sugar bags of oysters will sell at the city depot for 7/and paper bag lots at 2/- and 1/-. . / • ° Air Ambulance. When the- Wanganui Aero Club's Percival Proctor is flown to Auckland this week to uhdergo an inspection for the renewal of its certiificate of airworthiness, modificajtions will be carried out to make it more efficient for the carrying of stretcher patients. The Proctor has . been used on a number of pccasions for the transport of 'stretcher cases already, but on' each occasion a special stretcher has been borrowed from . the Middle District Aero Club at Palmerston North. The modifications to be carried out are only of a small nature, but will facilitate the handling of a stretcher patient and make 'the aircraft more suitable as an ambulance plane. Hours In America.
