Attempted Murder Charge Involves Brothers

AUCKLAND, May 30. Evidence that the elder son assumed - the role of head of the family and occasionaily thrashed his younger brother, was given at the hearing of an attempted murder charge in the Police Court at Onehunga today. Robert Courtney Reece, aged 19, a labourer, was charged with attempting to murder his brother, William Charles Reece, aged 25, a coppersmith, on April 23. The evidence for the prosecution alleged that after William Reece had thrashed Robert at their home, Robert came out with a loaded rifle and fired it at Willihm. Mr. W. Fortune and Mr. R. M. Collins appeared for accused. The hearing is proceeding.
