- WELLINGTON, May 26. "There is apt to be a rude awakening for anyone who dreams that this law can be% easily broken, ' ' said a Price Tribunal spokesman discussing today the reeent decision of the Price Tribunal governing the resale of motor cars imported since 1947. He referred to statements in newspapers that car dealers considered it an easy matter to circumv^nt the' price order. ' ' "It is expressly laid down," said the Tribunal's spokesman, "that any person commits an offence who is party to apy device, plan or scheme to cireumvent the ,order. The statement" that dealers could flnd many loopholes, can only be regarded as the wishful thinking of some person for wliom the laws of the land exist only to be broken. Morover, it might even persuade honest people into a dangerous position. The legislationj he added, was not so loosely drafted that such devices as "a friendly bet with a salesman" or sale of a worthles article at a heavy price in addition to the motor car deal, could turn an illegal transaction into a legitimate oue.
