The Govqp-nment has started a large scale recruitment of Chin and Kachm tribesmen and Burma born Gurkhas, to nut down the insurrection and defend Burma 's frontiers, according to authori^ative sources. Both the Kaehins and 'h.ins fought with the British Army ygainst the Japanese in Burma duriag the last war. Reports reaching Rangoon said that about 1000 Chinese bandits who cross•>d into the unadrninistered Wa State 'n iTnrtheast-Burma, have heen (lriven back across the border by Burmese ■tolice and Shan troops.
