White French Brocade Makes Pretty Bridal Gown

w t White French brocade made an attractiVQ bridal gown ' for Noeia Marjorie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor, of Waerenga Road, Otaki, for her marriage on May 7 to John Peter, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Nilsen, of .Carterton. Canon H. E. K. Fry performed the ceremony, at All Saints' Angliean Church, Otaki, which was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride with cyclamen and white chrysanthemums. The bride, \ who was escorted by her father, wore a gown fashioned on classical lines, with high neckline, long sleeves and a fichu giving an off the shoulder elfect. The skirt featured a long train falling from a deep peplum. From a coronet of orange blossom the bride's embroidered veil feli into a second train and she carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums, philippine lilies and stock. Her only ornament was a pearl pendant loaned by her aunt, Mrs. T. E. Thompson, of Hastings. Cyclamen moire taffeta was worn by the four bridesmaids, the bride's sisters, Misses Duxie and- Dawn Taylor, her cousin, Miss ' Shir.ey Fraser, of Wellington, and the bridegroom's sister, Miss Emily Nilsen. Their frocks had panelled bodices, with a double frill of taffeta inserted in the rounded yokes, high necklines and cap sleeves. The ha'f-circle skirts had flared fishtail peplums, finished at the waistline with a large bustle bow. They wore triple strings of pearls and cream elbow length gloves, and carried bouquets of cyclamen and cream flowers, whPe matching sprays of real flowers were worn in their hair. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Alan Simmonds as best man, with Messrs Warren Catt, Halsey Robinson and Frank Booth as groomsmen. During the signing of the regisjter Mrs. J. Jamieson, of Palmerston 'North, rendered the solo, "Thanks jBe To God," with Miss H. Lea at Ithe organ. I At the reception held in the ; Angliean Hall, which was attractively decorated with streamers and flowers in cyclamen and cream shades, Mrs. Taylor received her guests in a deep fuschia suit, with black accessories and a cyclamen shoulder spray. She was assisted by Mrs. Nilsen, who wore a mustard suit, with brown accessories and autumn toned shoulder spray. A .cablegram from London was among the many congratulatory messages. received. When Mr. and Mrs. Nilsen left by car for a motor tour of the North Island, the bride was wearing a burgundy suit and accessories. The young couple will make their home in Pahiatua, where Mr. Nilsen is teaching at the Distric'fc High School.
