Reeeived Tuesdav 7 p.m. LONDON, May 24. British troops in Berlin may again walk arm in arm with German girls — nroviding that one arm is permanentlv free so that they can easily come to the salute when^ passing an officer. The British United Press Berlin cor respondent says this is laid down in an order issued by the Berlin Commandant. Major-General Bourne, whieh rescinded the order issued three weeks ago. The earlier order said: "Owing to the over familiar manner in which sol liers walk with women, sometimes with heir arrns around their waist, the practice of walking arm in arm with women will cease." Some troops protestecl strongly. They pointed out that it prevented them from walking arm in arm with their wives.
