Firm Prices At Levin Sale
There were good yardings of fat sheep artd pigs at the Levin sale yesterday. Only medium pens of beef and a short yarding of dairy stock came forward,- but all values wefe oh a par with recent saies, with the exception of beef, which showed a slight easing. However, in most cases. the vendors met the market. The following is a range oft the prices realised: — Sheep: Fat ewes, 32s lOd to 33s 7d; prime heavy fat wethers, 47s -7d to 48S Id: medium do., 46s 7d to 47s 4d; lighter do., 43s l'd to 43s 2d; prime heevy lambs, 37s lOd-to 41s Id: medium do., 35s Id to 36s lOd: light do., 33s 4cbto 34s lOd. Pigs: Heavy porke'rs, £5 5s to £5 10s: medium do.. £4 to £4 19s; lighter do., £3 5s to £3 15s; baconers, £5 1-3b to £5 19s; stores, to 32s. Cat'i"le: Dairv cows close to profit, £15. 10s. £18 to £22 10s; later calving do., £12 10S to £13 10s; prime heavy vealers, to £8 17s 6d; medium do., £6 7s 6d to £7; lighter do., -£5 12s 6d to £6; medium fat bullocks, £6 12S 6d to £7 17s 6d; heavy P.A. heifers, £13 2s 6'd to £13 12s 6d; fat exdairy cows, £6 7s 6d to £8 7s 6d.
