Free-for-all In Japanese National Diet
Eeceived Thursday, 10.40 p.m. TOKIO, May 19. Angry Commtinist and Democratic Liberal members todav cla-shed in what the news agency Ivyodo describes as one of the biggest brawls in the history of the National Diet. Judo trained members struggled on the floor of the House for nearly a quarter of an hour before the Speaker was able to break up the fight and call a recess. Tempers had earlier been strained while 'questions were aslted about why the Government originally stated the National Taxation Board was being established to comply with the "demand" of S.C.A.P. The Communist, Toshio Tachibana, during an exchange, approaclied the Democratic Liberal member on another matter. Democratic Liberals jostled Tachibana thinking he was threatening violence. Another Communist slapped a Democratic Liberal member 's face and a free-for-all developed. Eight Wing Democratic Liberals who are the Government Party, outnumber the Communists by about eight to one.
