District Riflemen To Fore At Trentham
At Trentham on Saturday members of the Hautere Defence Rifle Club met the Onslow Rifie Club in a friendly shoot over 300, 500 and 600 yards. The visitors won the eight-men teams match with 1079 1 points to Onslow's 1074. E. A. Ballinger (Onslow) secured the highest individual total of 140, while E. Doyle and L. E. Monk (Hautere) were next with 137 each. , The pairs, own handicap, resulted 1 in a tie between E. Doyle an*d E. A. j Ballinger, and H. Taylor (Hautere) j and W. Fettes (Onslow). The highest single scores off the ; rifle were as follows: — 300 yards: . E. A. Ballinger 49, C. Cobb, E. I Doyle and F. Freeman 47. 500 yards: 1 E. Doyle 48, L. Monk, B. Monk and H. Taylor 47. 600 yards: N. McWilliams (Onslow) 48, L. Enley (Onslow) 47, N. Monk, L. Monk and E. A. Ballinger 46.
