Small Increase In British Meat Ration
LONDON, May 16. The Ministcr of Food (Mr. Straeliey) stated in the Ilouse of Comnions today that stoeks of earcass meat had incrcased sullieiently to enal)le the substitution of au additional 2d worth of careass meat for the 2d worth of eanned corned meat -at prescnt being" issucd. As from May 22 the weekly meat ration of l.'ld worth would again eonsist entiiely of earcass meat. Beuter says that the reasons wliv the meat ration will l;e all earcass meat are that a iittle more meat has come from Australia and New Zealand, a quantity has been bought from the Unitcd States, the hoiue killing position is better, fat cattle supplies from Ire- ' land liave increased and a small amount j of pork has come from France .
