Conditions Good For Trials At Awapuni
Awapuni stables will be represented at Foxton on Saturday but in yesterday's trials not many horses were seriously against the watch. There were several good displays of jump-. ing over the hurdles and among those to please most were Result and Mes- . alliance. Result (A. G. Waddell) went witii Hinewalca (M. Andrews). Hinewaka jumped well but, under pressure to stay With Result, did uot fence as cleanly as he usually does. Mesalliance (J. Harris) had The Pagan (A. G. Waddell) as a companion over six flights. The Pagan, on tlie outer for the lirst four fences, rau out at each. Mesalliance theu moved out aml The Pagau finished on the inner. Mesalliance jumped splendidly bpt The Pagan, in addition to runniug dovvn his fences, rapped several of them. Gable Stitch (J. Hely) went off be hind the other two and in a satisfactory trial was doing his best work at the finish. Prom the six furlong barrier Beaufonn (J. Harris) and Matara (M. Pyne) were home in 1 23 4-5 with the pace steady tliroughout. Playtos (V. J. Sellars) was not at top over tliree in 43. Lord Holland (L. Hodren) and Lord Luek (G. R. Tattersail) pleased over five in 1 8 2-5. Wembley (Tattersail) and Mon Desire (Aitken) were timed to run tlie iast three of half a mile in 42. Great Success (A. G. Waddell) and Jtumaire (T. Goff) worked steadily over a mile, the last seven in 1.44, the last Lliree in 44. West Meatli (Aitken and Blank Chepie (Ileiv) were timed to run a miJe in 1.58, the Iast iive in 1 11 3-5. Treniello ^Ilodren) and Carey (WooiL worked over a mile in* 1.54, the last three in 42. jN'ighthena (Tattersail) and Kippo (,j. Cartcr; covered a mile in 2.1 3-5. Gpecialist (Andrews) and Aristea ( i I. Ryaii) ran five in 1.12, and Dandy Ninth worked over three in just bcttm than 15 to the furlong. Ruling Momeni Mrs Christma-D worked well over seven in 1 42 4-5. Emerge has been turned out for u spell, also Serrano, who was cauglit i:p in the barrier at Rawera.
