Received- Wednesday, 9.35 a.m. LEICESTER, May 17. A thunderstorm killed the New Zealand-Leieester match. Heavy showers, throughout the night and morning prevented play until 2 p.m., and even the wicket required blankets and the roLer to help dry it- out. When Prentice and Lester returned to the crease, they had an easy wicket on which Cowie and Cave could do little but make the ball rise sharply and neithei ftabone, Burke, Sutcliffe or Donnelly could do more than bowl .lopefully. While Prentice and Lester batted veil and brought the county's second innings total to 207 for one, and Prentice reached his century n 145 minutes and hit eleven fours. hunder clouds encircled the .round. Then lightning split the ky and the players ran for cover. And so New Zealand won comfortably on the first innings and Leilester still required 104 to level the account.
