Leicester Gathers Runs On Easy Wicket

Received- Wednesday, 9.35 a.m. LEICESTER, May 17. A thunderstorm killed the New Zealand-Leieester match. Heavy showers, throughout the night and morning prevented play until 2 p.m., and even the wicket required blankets and the roLer to help dry it- out. When Prentice and Lester returned to the crease, they had an easy wicket on which Cowie and Cave could do little but make the ball rise sharply and neithei ftabone, Burke, Sutcliffe or Donnelly could do more than bowl .lopefully.
