Heavy Frosts. The Shannon 'district has experienced several severe - frosts -during the past week, but the record -for many years was on Saturday morning. The low-lying country around the town was covered with a heavy coating, while at Moutoa ahd the Paiaka area also, experienced Jieavy fog, making the use of the roadways very difficult. : ; - -v Noi Limit Bags. The opening of the shooting season on Saturday was marred/from the sportsman's point of view, by unfavourable weather conditions for duck shooting. The -clear, frosty morning favoured the birds and they were fiying high. Reports from all quarters show that there were no limit bags. On Saturday morning only 13 birds were secured from four guns on Jennings' lagoon, while at Bowe's Road eleven birds were obtained by four guns. Better shooting was reported on Saturday evening, although the bags were still small as compared with past seasons.
