Auckland Doctor Dies In His Surgery
AUCKLAND, May 15. Eleven months after his wife committed snicide in the surgery at his home at Onehunga, Dr. Raeburn Neil Campbell, aged 45, was found unconseious in tlie same room on Saturday night. Artiflcial respiration and hoart stimulants were administered by the police surgeon but the measures were unsuccessful and Dr. Campbell died shortlv after 10.30. Ear'lier in the evening Dr. Campbell visite'd a house in Remuera where, it is alleged, a married woman was assault ed. She was later admitted to the Auckland Hospital for observation of injuries to the head. Her condition tonight was not serious. Dr. Campbell was found in his sur • very by his father who lives with him, Thortly after 10 p.m. Dr. Campbell senr. had heard his son arrive home about half an hour earlier and he went into the surgery to talk to him when he saw him lying unconseious on the floor. At the inquest into the death of Mrs Vivien Rose Campbell, aged 34, lasf August, Dr. Campbell said that after attending the Arts ball on June 23, his wife had locked herself in his surgery and taken some drugs. He later found some capsnles on a coueh and he applied artiflcial respiration to his wife but hm condition deteriorated and she died about 4.30 a.m. on .Tuixe 24. A vex'dict of suieide was returned by the coronet at tlxe inquest.
