Enormous Bulloek Slaughtered. Considered to^ be the heaviestf slaughtered on the West' Coast/for I - many years, a huge bulloek weigh-| irig 1779 Ibs when dressed was killed at the Longburn freezing works this week. The beast, which was an Aberdeen Angus with a slight strain of Shorthorn, weighpd over a ton, live weicht. It was owned by Mr. B. Mitchell, of Kairanga. Many local farmers and other intexested parties were present at the works on Monday to see the buhock slaughtered end dressed. Conjectures as to its dressed weight were many, and a .sweepstake was organised, about 60 entering. At the present export schedule of £2 10s per 100 lbs, the gross. value of the bulloek would be £44 '9s 6d.
