End To Haphazard Bicycle Parking In Sight
Provision for betweeh 140 and 150 bicycles is at present being made by the reservation of snaces for cycle racks in Oxford Sheet. The Levin Borough Counci" 's sta'ff, supervised by the overseer, Mr. E. Lycette, is at present laying concrete slabs in two areas in Oxford Street, bringing Ihe road evel to that of the footoath. Woodeh racks will later be placed there pending .heir replacement with galvanised piping racks_of nlodern desien. Wooden racks will bb provided 'ih other parts of the street. AT the areas will be p'ainly marked as bicycles zones. and will be kent clear of -other tfafflc. In future the council will not permit biCyc'es tb be left anywheve but in the stahds. and this will be strictly ehforced, thus relieving the present cbngestion of bicycles agaihst buildings and along the Tootpath.
