Ineome tax paid by individuals in Fiji at the last assessement amounted to something under 10s per head of the population. That is based on a population* oA 27-7,372 and their contribution of £133,421 to the local exchequer. And that includes supertax. Europeans contributed £90,330, lndians and phinese between them were billed for £42,661 (inclnding arbitrary assessments totalling £13,015), and Fijians £381. The odd £49 left over was provided by absentees.
