Vandals Wreck Rifle Club's Room And Gallery

CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. Vandals who broke into the Cashmere Miniature Rifle Club's room and shooting gallery took four .22 rifles from a cupboard and shot everything within sight. Fifteen shots were fired into a large seven-day wall clock and eight into a large billy. E'ectric light bulbs, switches and the meter were broken by rifle fire. The wiring on the meter was shot away and a fluorescent tube broken. Photographs of former teams and champions of the club, which were framed and hung on the walls, were fired at, the gl ass being strewn on the floor. The damage is estimated at £100.
