1A v JliJvv A XvvTl 1 > I j, JJlcLy lu. Winter fell on Southiand today following a sudden deterioration in the Weather late last night. Early this moming tliere was a clear sky but heavv rain clouds aeeompanied by hail swept in from the south. Rain and hail fell at intervals and although there were patches of blue sky, the weather remained cold and bleak in the city. Snow is reported from Mossburn (three inches), Te Anau, Queenstown, Lumsden and other parts of the province.
