The fifth annual ineeting of the Horowhenua branch bf the New Zealand Friesian Breedirjs' A^sbciation was he'd yes'.brday, the rbtiring president, Mr. B. W. Boddy, being in the chair. After welcoming members, Mr. Boddy reported that a mdst siiccessfu' year had been experienced. The Friesian entry ih he Horowhenua show hsd been the largest for any show Ih New Zfearahd. afid this showed that .the breed h'ad made great 'strides- O.ver . .the pasl. few years. He 'appealpd to jbhose present to continue to -snpport ,'lhe A. and P. show eaCh yeat-,' remark-; ing that the branch we-s endeavourihg to secure more members. The' balance she'et, prgsen ed by the secretary, Mr,. D. M. Sorensonj showed a credit baian'ce bf £12 2s 5d. Commenting on the branch's finances, Mr. F. H. Moiik remarked that the tolal ass'ets were nit very great. It could have more expenditure if it had more finance, he pointed out. The elec.ion of officers resulted as follows: — Presideht: Mr. B. S. Kyle; vice-president-: Mr. D. Standish; immediate past bb'esi'dent: Mr. B. W. Boddy- secretarytreasurer : Mr. . D. M. So'rensoh; executive committee: Messrs F. O. Ma'colm, E. P. Wooton, P. N. Bmall and A. R. Horn, Jhr.; emergency committee: Messrs B. S. .Kyle,^ D. M. Sorenson and F. O. Malcolm; auditor: Mr. B. S. H'yle. Those present placed on record their appreeiation bf the services of Mr. and Mrs. . B. S.. .Kyle ap'd Messrs B. W. Boddy and F-. O. Mai-, colm. It was decided to. make a: donation of £2 2s to the Horowhenua Boys' and-Girls' Agriciiltural Club, the branch's representative on the c'ub being Mr. P. N. Small. The branch will forward the, names of .Messrs F. 6. MaiCblm and. A. R., Small to the association a,s junior judges.
