Senior Competition Headed By Shannon
Saturday was a day of surprises in the Horowhenua senidr rughy championship. The strong Athletic iifteen had its co.ours lowered by Rahui, who are newcomers to senior football, while anannon turned the tables on Hui Mai, Iast season's champions. Another upset to expectations was the defeat of Foxton at the hands of Paraparaumu. Tne championship points held by the various teams are as follows:— Senior. — Snannon, 6; Wanherers, Paraparaumu anci Foxton, 4 .each; Athietic, 3; Rahui, 2; Hui Mai, l; btaki 0. j tiiudr. — Awahau and Punahau, 6 each; Athletic, Waikanae. .. and Shannon, 4 each; Hui Mai, Tokomaru, Wanderers and Ranui, u. imrd Grade. — Oxd Boys, 5; Hui Mai and Shannon, 4 eacn; B'oxton, o; Atmetic and Otaki 0. Fourth Grade. — Coilege A, 5; Rahui and Foxoon, 3 each; ,Para^lauiiiu, Wanderers and Shannon, 2; Coilege B 1. JJeoantd results of Saturday 's games m all grades were as follows: — Seniors.
