Poland Wants Franco Spain Ostracised
Received Friday, 9.20 p.m. • NEW YORK, May 5. Poland has called on the General Assembly to ban the export of arms, ammunition and strategic material to Spain. In a resolution introdueed before the Political Committee today Poland also proposed that all members of United Nations should refrain fro.m entering into an agreement or treaties, with General Franco^ It also sought to reaffirm previous Assembly "resolutions, ineluding a ban on the- appointment of ambassadors to Madrid. T|ie Polish resolution noted that Britain, the United States. and severaf other countries had "eontinued to strengthen their political and economic relations with Franco Spain, tnereuy preventing the establishment of a democratic Spanish regime." The eommitte adjourned without reaehing a decision.
