More Finance Sought for Firefighting Services

WEL LINGTON^May 6. The Wellington Fire Board decided: to-day to renew the request to the Government for more money towards maintaining its firefighting services. It was stated at the meeting that there was an increasing number or Government-owned buildings in Wellington for which relatively little contribution was being made by the State for firefighting. A letter from the Internal Affairs ' Department stated that an increase in the Government 's contribution towards fire stations in. all districts was under discussion, but legislation • could not be introdnced until the next sesaion of Parliament.
