INVERCARGILL, May 2, Reports that he intended visitin£ Fiordland to hunt for moas, were denied tonight by Dr. G. B. Orbell, of Invercargill, who rediscovered the notornis. but he said he might look for traces of the moa which had become extinct. It he did rftake such a search, it would tio! be in the notornis area. Dr. Orbell added that the story that he would make a private exeursion tc Fiordland to search for moas, was wrongly foliftded' — it was based on an assumption from an article in an oVereeas magazine and not on fact.
