Rainfall For 1949 Ahead Of Last Year

Alfhough less rain fell during April than in that month last year, the total rainfall for the flrst four mpnths of 1949 is nearly three ipches more than for the same period in 1948. Dpring the montb 3.75 inches were recorded. &s against 4,79 inches for April, 1948. The total for the Rrst four months' is 13.48 inches, compared with 10.85 ipches lajst year. Raip was recorded on 15 days in April and there wero five frosts, none of them exceeding two degrees. These figures were supplie'd by Mr. H. Harvey, of Cambridge Street, Levin.
