Australian Beef May Reach 540,000 Tons
Received Fridav 9.50 p.m. CANBERRA, April 29. Officials estimate that Australian beef production could rise to 540,000 tons annually as the result of the fifteeu year agreement with Brijain. Thc present beef production is about 140 000 tons annually. Commonwealth and State expenditure on the development in Nenthorn Aus tralia to assist beef production might eveiituallv reach £50,000,000 ineluding the provision of railways and *««.ds.
