WELLINGTON, April 29. Excellent, fields, including a number of fresh horses, are engaged for the concluding day of the Hawke's Bay Club's autumn meeting at Hastings tomorrow. Only five of the 15 acceptors in the Te Mahanga Handicap, the principal event, contested the Hawke's Bay Cup on the opening day, so first day form in this event might not prove too reliable. With the brief spell she has enjoyed Indian Song should give a good aecount of herself on her home track. She is a distinct prospect.
At Waverley Hostess looks to hold a good winning chance in the Besley Memorial Handicap.
Large fields will again be the order for the concluding day of the Manawatu Trofting Club's fixture, at Awapuni, tomorrow. Form at this meeting may provide a good guide for the Wellington Trots, at Hutt Park, Petone, tomorrow week, where the majority of tomorrow's runners are also engaged.
