Nine sums received by'fTve different Government Departments as conscience money, are acknow'ledged in the Gazette by Mr. B. G. Ashwin, Secretary of the Treasury. The amounts range from £1 to £30 received by the Marketing Department down to 5s received by the Stamp DTities Department. Two comparatively large amounts — £25 and £20 — were received by the Land and Income Tax Department together with another amount of £1.
