HOW SHANNON SENIORS PLAYED ON SATURDAY
(Contributed) Shannon's game with Rahui on Saturday showed the Shannon senior. team to be noo lacking in good solifi players this season. C Mortimer, at fUxl-back,s piayed a safe game, his iine kicking being a cig assei t.o "his team. Of the\ wingers,*Putu was the most impressive. R. Anderson, the other winger, seemed to be a little off and would be better playing in his usual position in the forwards. At cemre, B. Moynihan was sometimes erratic in taking his passes, but shouid improve as the season advances. D. Fuller and M. Moynihan, the five-eighths, are a dangerous combination, with Fuller the pick of the two. K. Tritt, at halfback, had a trying fiay and some of his passes from the scrums were very low, this being on account of poor support from the forwards. Of the forwards, A. Wood, I. Pratt, S. Chester and N. Callesen worked we 1 in ihe tight, while in the ioose Sayer, Rowiands, Robinson and D. Pigott played well. One' of the main faults in the game was that no player called for the ball, three or four all trying to»cacch it at once with disastrous results. There was aiso too much loose play in the forward^
