Parties of British Children Coming Monthly
Rpeeived Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, April 20. A partv of IS children selected by the Overseas League acting as agenti for the New Zealand Government, whc sail for New Z#alaml in the Rimutaka were farewelled at Overseas Ilouse today by .Mr. Jordan. The children, whose ages range from 5 to ls years, eome from all parts of Britain and tlie inajority of them are going to live witn relatives in the Dominion. They mciude 12 lioys and six girls and oue family of three, ICathleen Snowdon, aged 5, Vietor Snowdon, aged 8, and Sheila Snowdon, aged 9. They are going to an unc.ie and aunt in New Plyniouth. All fares are being paid by the New Zealand Government. Also present at the farewell were Commander D. C. Kinloch, who recently visited New Zealand, and the Overseas League 's immigration secretary, Mr. Cyril Bavin. It is intended that parties of 20 children will leave for the Dominion monthly. Mr. Fraser, speaking at the Overseas League earlier in the day, during a welcome to the New Zealand eric-ket team, said New Zealand was glad to have these children who would receive ev;ry attention. He added: "We are very proud to adopt tliem. ' '
