Unfortnnate End To Maiden Voyage

Received Wednesday, 11.15 a.m. RIO DE JANIERO, April 26, En route to Britain from Argenifina on her maiden voyage, the British 17,000-ton liner Magdalena ran aground on a rock 15 miles south of Rio de Janiero yesterday and broke in two today after being refloated. The 358 passengers were taken off yesterday without a casualty. The two halves of the liner were partly submerged today and two Srazilian destroyers rushed up and Ghrew lines aboard for an attempt Lo tow the halves to safety. Small craft are standing by to take off* che 236 crew if necessary. The Magdalena is owned by the. Royal Mail Lines.
