NELSON, April 22. Payment to shareholders of the value of their sliares in Cook Strait Airways Ltd., has been made by tlie Government through the National Airways Corporation, marking the tinal phase of th * eompulsory liquidation of the Company uuder an Act passed in 1945, and following notlce of aequisition served iu Deeember, 1947. With capitai ot £15,000 which Isftei was raised t> £18,000, Cook Strait Airways Ltd., wai formed iu 1935 and successfully operated a serviee between Nelson and We'lington over a number of years. During the war the Company comc under th.» direction of the Government. Shares were paid for at valuation.
