The tendency to associate the authorship of. .the . ,well-known English comedy "Tons of Money" with Ben Travers is understandable, because the play may weli fce described as an English comedy in .the Ben Travers sty e. "Chafley's lAunt," "Rookery Nook" and "Toris of Money" are a trio of playsdvhicb haVe rnet with outstanding s.uccees both on the stage and in the films. These plays have earned for'themselves a special category of stage and fTm production which has come to be known as English comedy. "Tons of Money," written bj Evans and Valentine, is to be presented by the Little Theatre Socie.y at the Regent Thea.tre or: Wednesday, May 4. With Mr Harold Rees, of Napier, as guest producer, a capabie and we'l trained cast, and an efficient band oi 'assistants, the Litt e Theatre Society is well placed to provide loca: thea.tregoers with an entertainment worthy of the tradition estab'ished by previous productions of "Tons of Money." Seats for the performance on Wednesday may be booked at the Regent Theatre.
