Gift Of Steel For Church Restoration

o Received Thursday, 7 p.m. LONDON, April 21. The gift of 50 tons of steel by an Ameriean businessman, Mr. Gharles Sumner Bird, of Boston, has made it possible to complete the reconstruction of All Hallows by the Tower, the guild church of the Toc H movement. Last year Mr. Bird gave 25 tons of steel for the reconstruction of the north gdsle o± the guild chapel. .This will be opened by Queen Mary oh July 14. - Mr, Bird 's : latest gift will be used to re-roof the ,nave. The United States has many associations with All Hallows. William Penn worshipped in the church and Jolm Quincey Adams, sixth. President of the United States, was married in it. All Commonwealth countries have also contributed material to expedite the reconstruction of the church.
