Mayor's Work In Sanatorium Project Praised

Appreciation of the efforts of the Mayor, Mr. H, B. Burdekin, in taking a leading part in bringing about the final decision to establish the sanatorium in Levin, was voiced by Cr. R. A. Frederikson at Wednesday night's meeting of the Levin Borough Council. It was decided that a motion to this effect be placed on record, Cr. Frederikson said that the council and burgesses of Levin owed a debt of gratitude to Mr, Burdekin for the tremendous amount of work he had put into the matter. Thanking the council for its gesture, the Mayor said that at times he had been accused of secr-ecy in matters concerning the sanatorium. but there were times when he couid not even take the council into his confidence. being bouhd by the Hospital Board and the Minister of Health. It was good to know that his efforts had been crowned with success,
