Chinese Nationalists Take Bridgehead

Received Friday, 11 p.m. LONDON, April 15. Reuter's Nanking eorrespondent re ports that continuing their combmed land, sea and air attaeks on the Com munists, the Nationalists today are re ported to have i'ecaptured the north bank bridgehead at Sankiang Yirig about 62 miles east of Nanking. Two additional Communist regiments and oue battalion are elaimed to have been wiped out. Political observers at Nanking say reports of Nationalist eounterattacic since the opening of the formal peace talks might have serious repercussions Unc-onfirmed reports said the Nationalist operations followed a telephone cou ference with Chiang Ivai-shek at Chikow.
